Queen Ada

Visitors also admire special room of Carian Princess Ada whose tomb was accidentally discovered in 1989. This room houses the remains of Princess Ada, Carian Princess and sister of King Mausolos. According to historical records, she lived between 379 BC and 330 BC. Archaeologist from Bodrum Museum excavated the tomb and brought all the finds together with the sarcophagus. Also the head of the queen was recreated after facial reconstruction at the Medical Art Department of Manchester University.
